I’m Roger Lawrence
Entrepreneur | Technologist | Adventurer
I have been using computers since high school in 1983, and a professional technologist since programming mainframes in 1988. My career has taken me from those early beginnings in South Africa, to working for some of the largest tech firms in the UK, USA, and across Asia-Pacific & Japan.
Today I run ACHIEVR a business I co-founded in 2017. We use Augmented and Virtual Reality to help companies solve tough [i.e. risky, expensive, &/or complex] training challenges. I also consult on tech innovation, & deliver keynote speeches.
Personally I’ve been adventuring since camping at 10, boating at 12, and motorcycling at 15. From sailing across the Atlantic, to motorcycling across the Himalayas, or wreck diving in Truk Lagoon, I am happiest exploring our amazing, fragile planet.
None of this would be possible without the support of Lucy, my wife of 25 years, with whom I share our passion for music. Oh yeah, there’s the crazy adventure of parenting four incredible, independent, and beautiful daughters.
